Support
Groups
One of the most effective ways of
dealing with depression and other mental illnesses is by building a
strong support system for yourself. These groups provide hope, support,
and help to better educate and inform yourself about mental illness.
The groups offer peer support, videos, guest speakers, discussion, etc.
The overall goal is to enhance the general well-being
of members, to
improve their quality of life, to empower them to speak for themselves,
and to enable them to work more effectively with health professionals,
agencies and groups in the community.

available through the Canadian Mental Health Association,
